Dolphin Research Center College Graduates Class of 2015

Grassy Key…The College of Marine Mammal Professions (CMMP), established in 2012 by Dolphin Research Center, proudly graduated the 2015 class of students in a commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 16th held at the center on Grassy Key.  After nine months of intensive study and hands on work performed six days a week, the three young women earned Associate of Science degrees in Marine Mammal Behavior, Care and Training.  The experience and training they received qualifies them to work at any marine mammal facility in the world.

The Class of 2015’s graduates are: Brianna Keys, Kasey Ober, and Caitlin Scott.  Ober has also been hired by DRC into the Animal Care and Training department.  The remaining students are pursuing careers at other facilities.

“We could not be prouder of the graduates and the phenomenal effort they devoted to their program over the last several months.  They truly earned their degrees and will be outstanding marine mammal trainers and caregivers wherever they work,” said Kirsten Donald, Director of the College.

The CMMP is fully licensed by the Florida Commission for Independent Education, License No. 4766.  Students for the next class have already been accepted and will begin their program in August 2015.  More information about the college, including prerequisites, application period, and costs, can be found at the website www.dolphins.org/cmmp, or by calling 305-289-1121, ext. 222.
