Teen DolphinLab
Teens ages 15-17
Teen DolphinLabs are six-day programs that engage teens aged 15-17 in the amazing world of dolphins. Students meet DRC’s resident dolphin and sea lion population, learning to respect and identify each animal as an individual through observation of their unique behavioral and physical characteristics. Through observation time, live demonstrations, and dockside and in-water interactive programs, students will foster special connections with DRC’s animal family, and learn from the best teachers – the dolphins and sea lions!
The courses include a unique blend of hour-long discussion based seminars, observation time, interactive programs, and hands-on activities. Class sizes average eight to ten students to ensure individualized instruction.
Teen DolphinLab learning activities differ from each course to build upon the foundation and information from the previous Lab.

I wanted to let you know how much of an impact DolpinLab and DRC made on me and my life. I never thought I would make the connections I did while I was there. I continue to talk to everyone each day and I can’t wait for the next year. I look at the pictures and videos of the dolphins and sea lions…and think about all the amazing interactions and bonds I made with all of them. something I carry with me throughout each day. I have changed my lifestyle as well. I am doing everything in my power to make healthier choices for the environment. I definitely didn’t know how big of an impact we make on earth and each day I talk to my friends and family about how to conserve.
TeenBasic DolphinLab was even better than my previous experience with camps at DRC. I loved how I still learned more, got even closer with the dolphins (and even some staff) amd was introduced to even more possibilities in the marine mammal field. This DolphinLab got me interested in research as well, not just training!
Everything at DRC was amazing and I thought the dorms were awesome.
DRC has opened my eyes to ways we can connect and protect animals in both the wild and in human care. I plan to try to use less plastic as well as take the information I’ve learned and pass it on to others!
