Virtual Field Trips, Video Conferences and Distance Learning Programs

As much as you’d like to bring your students to Dolphin Research Center, sometimes, that just isn’t possible. Dolphin Research Center’s virtual field trips, video conferences and distance learning programs help bring the dolphins into your classroom, whereever you’re located!

Thanks to web camera and internet technology, you and your classroom can visit Dolphin Research Center, meet our marine mammal family, and engage in question and answer sessions with experts in the fields of marine mammal care, training, and research.

Dolphin Research Center offers a variety of programs to meet the different ages, grade levels, interests and other needs of various audiences.

How does it work?

Our studio programs allow students to interact with an educator in a standards/ objectives based program. This program utilizes pre-recorded video clips from around the facility. Descriptions of the programs that are currently available are included below. New programs are always in development.

Looking for something you don’t see? Please contact our Education department. Studio based programs are $105.00. Each program is 30-60 minutes in length, and includes a question and answer session with a marine mammal expert.

Live from the Dock programs

Our Live from the Dock programs feature trainers and dolphins on the scene of DRC, presenting to you in the moment. These programs are more customizable, allowing teachers to indicate the top questions they would like answered. Just like our studio based programs, these sessions also feature a question and answer exchange with a marine mammal expert. These programs are dependent on weather, as well as the needs of the animals. Live from the Dock programs are 30-45 minutes in length and cost $140.00.

Standards based programs are currently aligned to Ocean Literacy Principles, National Standards and Florida Standards. It is possible to provide alignments to other state standards for specific programs if requested in advance.

Summer Season

During our busiest time of the year when we hold our DolphinCamps, Teen DolphinLabs, and Adult DolphinLabs, we have less time indoors at our desks.
