Teachers: Bring classroom lessons to life with dolphins and other marine mammals

Developing lesson plans takes a great deal of time, research and dedication. Dolphin Research Center draws from more than 30 years of experience in educating students of all ages and shares our popular, proven lesson plans, activities and other curriculum elements  that teachers can use to engage and inspire their students.

Dolphin Research Center now offers its Curriculum materials as a FREE download for teachers! There are currently two options:

  • Discovering Dolphins: Exploring the Sea with Dolphins

    • These lesson plans are aligned to the Common Core Standards, Current Florida Standards, Next Generation Science Standards and Ocean Literacy Standards

    • More activities are designed to be STEAM or STEM oriented

    • To keep up with ever-changing and evolving standards, continue to check back as we update lesson plans to meet the most current state and national standards

    • Will have content for all grade levels

  • Discovering Dolphins: Dolphins and their Environment

    • Formerly offered in CD format for grades K-8. It includes:

      • More than 40 lesson plans aligned with Florida’s Next Generation State Standards, National Science Education Standards, and Ocean Literacy Standards

      • These lesson plans are NOT aligned to the Common Core Standards, Florida Standards for English Language Arts, Florida Standards for Mathematics, or Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for Science. These lesson plans contain relevant information and activities, and are a great resource for supplemental information and activities
