Coronavirus Precautions in Place at DRC
Welcome back! The dolphins, sea lions, birds, and staff missed you!
As you plan your visit, we want to assure you that we continually monitor guidelines from the CDC, as well as our local, county, and state governments so that we can make sure that precautions are in place.
We recommend that you purchase your general admission and/or reserve for a Dolphin Encounter swim or other available program in advance on our website at www.dolphins.org/programs. If this isn't possible, when you arrive at DRC, we suggest you pay using a credit card. These choices will reduce contact for you and our staff.
According to the Monroe County Directive, all persons over the age of six years of age are required to wear a face covering at Dolphin Research Center whether inside or outdoors. The only exceptions to this are:
- When you and your group/family are maintaining social distance of at least six feet from other people
- When you are in the water doing an interactive program
- When you are dining
Staff will be wearing their face coverings for your protection. Inside, you'll see we've placed helpful marks on the floors to show six feet of distance and there are plexiglass panels between you and staff. As a non-essential business, we will make sure that we do not exceed more than 50% of a building's occupancy at any time. Thank you for your patience.
Door handles, point of sale terminals, counters, and other areas of our buildings are regularly disinfected. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers are provided for your use.
Please follow guidelines for social distancing between you and other guests while you walk around the grounds. Keep your face covering handy in case you need it!
