My Story: Flagler was given his name in honor of Henry Flagler, the railroad tycoon who built the first transportation system throughout the keys. He is a “brainiac” and learns behaviors quickly. When Flagler is enjoying himself, he will continuously vocalize his signature whistle - which is the loudest in the facility. Just like his mother, he is very dominant. When Flagler moved into a different lagoon with the “big boys”, quickly rose to the top of the totem pole by befriending Rainbow, one of our oldest male dolphins and the most dominant in that social group. Flagler blended with ease, swimming around the lagoon very smoothly with all the other mature males.

Nicknames: Flaglet, Flag Man

Our Mission - Through education, research and rescue, Dolphin Research Center promotes peaceful coexistence, cooperation and communication between marine mammals, humans and the environment we share with the well being of DRC's animals taking precedence.
